Q: What's the best way to learn Spanish? A: The short answer is it partly depends on you and almost certainly depends on immersion level. If you have no experience with learning other languages then we suggest you think about your favorite ways of learning anything. Do you tend to learn things visually, aurally or are you a "book learner"? Chances are good the best way for you to learn is whatever makes you comfortable. If, on the other hand, you have experience learning languages you probably want to follow the patterns you used to learn those languages. Many experienced linguists, for example, like to sit with native speakers and practice verb conjugations. Others stock up on dictionaries, literature and phrase books. Others simply sit in restaurants listening to conversation. No matter what your favored method, one thing true of learning any language is that immersion is the best teacher. The more often you practice, the more easily and naturally it will come to you and the faster you will learn. If you cannot immediately plant yourself in a Spanish-speaking country, at least practice your lessons regularly and often. Diligent study will always reward you. So the best advice we can give, no matter which learning method you prefer, is to make a commitment to set aside time to learn the language. In this way you are almost guaranteed to master Spanish.
